Once upon a time, the landscape of America was adorned with Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour Restaurants. Today there are two parlours in existence. Farrell’s co-founder, Bob Farrell, has made a career in foodservice and motivational consulting. Farrell’s memorabilia can be found on Internet auction sites, and there are various web sites which recount personal experiences with the parlours. Farrell's celebrated its 40th year of existence on September 13, 2003.

Who owns Farrell's today? Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour, LLC existed as recently as March, 2006, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Host Marriott Corp. (now Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc.). One of over 100 such subsidiary companies, the only time Farrell's appeared was when debt was issued by Host Marriott. As of November, 2006, Farrell's ceased appearing in these company filings, suggesting that any legacy obligations Marriott has regarding Farrell's have been fulfilled.

Marriott sold the Farrell's trademarks and master development rights to the Kirin Group of California in 1996. Kirin does not own any parlours, although it has granted franchises that represent two existing parlours.
