The Mira Mesa Farrell's closed permanently on Monday, July 31, 2006, ending an era in the San Diego metro area. The Ortman family has operated Farrell's in San Diego continuously since 1968 (that's 14,077 consecutive days, folks). There is an article on this sad event in the San Diego Union Tribune.
